It's not easy raising a child.

Great parents want many things for their children, including to be happy, feel good about themselves and enjoy positive relationships. It's hard to know what is "normal growing up" and when it's time to worry about your child.

Maybe you're going through a divorce or loss in the family and your child is acting in ways you don't recognize anymore? Or maybe your child is worrying about school or friends more than normal?  Maybe she's repeatedly making self-defeating comments? Or perhaps teachers are calling you to talk about your child’s behavior issues?  Is he or she crying or tantruming more easily and frequently? It's not an easy situation for any parent.  There’s hope and it can definitely be better.

I’ve spent my professional life devoted to helping children and families feel better.  I’d love to hear your story.  Let's see if this is just "normal growing up" or if some short-term therapy might help your child.

My office is located at the Rockridge Wellness Center in the heart of the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland.
