I 'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I graduated from Notre Dame de Namur University with dual Masters of Arts Degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy.
During the past decade, I've worked with children and families at the East Bay Agency for Children, Oakland public schools, Oakland Children’s Hospital, Circle of Care Grief and Loss Clinic and Seneca Center’s Day Treatment School.
I use a strength-based approach and evidence-based practices. In sessions, I spend time making sure children feel comfortable, safe and at ease. I ensure they are developing trust in me as this is a key component of successful therapy with children.
Neuro-developmental art therapy activities, mindfulness techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) methods, and communication skills building are the some of the tools I use. We will work together to come up with goals that I can help your child achieve. I empower you with tools to work with your child to continue our work at home.
I'm an Educator/Facilitator and Speaker on topics focused on art therapy and communication skills for agencies throughout California. You can find out more information (including testimonials) at www.arttherapytrainings.com. I'm also the mother of a sweet, spirited boy.
